OK, so in class today, we covered drag and drop, visibility and hit tests from the Part 2 section in the Gaming Lessons post from earlier in the week. As practice, you should try and think of another way these skills could be used and create and code your own file typing the code from scratch. It's one thing to be able to follow a tutorial and get it to work, but it's another thing entirely to actually understand all that code and be able to adapt it for your own purposes.

Photoshop Art Tutorials
I know a number of you are looking at using Photoshop to create graphics for your game and then importing them into Flash for the coding aspects, which is a great idea, as it will enable you to have a much higher level of graphic detail in your finished product.
Clink on the link below to go to a page that has around 40 tutorials that show you how to do some really cool stuff if you're interested.
http://pelfusion.com/tutorials/40-photoshop-tutorials-to-create-fantastic-art/
There are heaps more out there. If you just go to Google and type in something like "Photoshop Art Tutorial" you'll get a heap.
Make sure if you DO have a go at one of these, even if you decide not to use it, upload it to your blog and talk a little bit about it. EVERYTHING shows the process that gets you to the final product. Sometimes, the stuff you leave out and the reasons why is just as important as the stuff you include.

Welcome back!
Hey crew. As of tomorrow we're back and doing exciting things. Please ensure you bring all of your planning, sketches, etc. with you, even if you've already scanned and uploaded them to your blog. A reminder also to double-check the timeline of due dates in the booklet I gave you last year, so you know what exactly you should have achieved by tomorrow. If you don't have the booklet on you, it is downloadable as a pdf document from my first post entitled "Welcome". See you tomorrow.
